The rest of the team
Richard Friar, VN, is our practice manager. He has worked in the practice since leaving school, apart from a short stint in the Department of Agriculture`s Science Division. Richard Friar our Practice ManagerWhen Norma and Craig asked Richard to rejoin the clinic team in 1996 they were delighted that he accepted. Richard acts as our Pet Insurance Advisor, among his many duties. He is always cheery and efficient - the backbone of the organization of the practice - without Richard`s help the increasing burden of red-tape and paperwork which is modern-day veterinary practice would be insurmountable!

Jennifer Parker, Emma Larmour VN, Michelle McGimpsey and Rosemary Campbell make up the rest of our busy team.

Michelle dispensing tablets These four get through a massive amount of work in any week, delivering high quality nursing to our inpatients, whilst juggling the telephone and reception, and demands from the vets in theatre or in consultations - they deserve praise for a job well done - we are very grateful for all their help. Without the nursing team, we simply could not function as a good veterinary practice.

Jennifer has been with us for many years, and is very, very experienced. We are absolutely delighted that she chose to return to work after the birth of her first son! We would have missed her terribly if she hadn`t, and we hope she will find the time to return after the second also!!

Emma in Puppy Party mode!

We wish to congratulate Emma on passing the very difficult Veterinary Nursing examination to get her VN qualification. This was the result of a lot of hard work, and Emma deserves every credit for sticking with what is a terribly demanding course, whilst working hard in the "day job" too. Well done Emma!

Rosemary

Rosemary is a Newtownards girl (though we don`t hold that against her!!) and she has become a valued member of the team over the last 4 years since joining us. She is putting her retail experience to good use in our expanded “pet-shop” area in addition to her animal nursing duties.”

Michelle was accepted into the first year Veterinary Nursing course at Greenmount College in September 2007. She is working hard at college and in our practice to build her NVQ portfolio . Michelle is also studying theoretical and practical skills to sit the Royal College of Veterinary Nursing exams. We wish her all the best and recognise the dedication and hard graft this qualification demands.

Our latest member of staff CarolineCaroline is enrolled in the ANA course (which replaces the pre-veterinary nurse course) in CAFRE, Greenmount. She attends college on day-release for this, whilst studying in her own time for the necessary GCSE`s to allow enrolment in the Veterinary Nursing course. We wish her well in her studies.

Angie

Angie is very experienced as a vet nurse, and is in the final stages of her exams. She is absolutely meticulous in the execution of all her duties, and this reliability combined with an ever-cheery happy smile makes her a delight to work with. We are delighted she is with us.

Bex and Elizabeth have both very recently joined the team, and are rapidly learning the ropes in their support roles. Welcome aboard!
