Alan qualified with distinction from Liverpool University in 1999 and joined Cedarmount in 2007 after working in Dungannon and Yorkshire. He became a partner in Cedarmount, with Craig in 2013. Alan has a particular interest in surgery, especially orthopaedics.
In November 2017, Alan passed his Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice. Studying for a RCVS Cert AVP covers all aspects of clinical practice with modules in Professional Skills, Clinical Skills and 3 specialist modules for which Alan chose Small Animal Surgery. The certificate involves many hours of studying, requiring case logs and detailed case reports, as well as 2 written exams at the RVC in London.
Alan’s interest in orthopaedics has enabled Cedarmount to offer one of the most recent developments in cruciate surgery, the MMP, a version of Tibial Tuberosity Advancement, with great success so far.
In his spare time, Alan is a keen amateur photographer, when time allows, with a family of 3 at home!
